FAQ
Can I join any time?
Yes. Signum Dei is evergreen, which means it is open for registration 24-7-365.
Will I always have access to my course materials?
Once each course is finished, an automated version of it will become part of the Catholic Course Library, which you will have access to for life as long as you remain a member of the Signum Dei program. On top of that, you’ll also receive access to all future courses published onto the library.
Can I cancel at any time?
I’m very confident that you’ll like what you see, but in the event that you need to cancel, I’ve made it very easy to cancel at any time. With just a few clicks and you can cancel your membership. No strings attached, no yearly commitment, no risk on your part. Just a few clicks, that’s all!
Are you accredited?
No. We are a grassroots program whose sole purpose is to provide a rich and meaningful environment for theological, philosophical, and spiritual formation in the Catholic faith.
Do you offer credits toward a degree?
No. Again, we are a distance learning community, not a degree program. We offer instruction for anyone, especially those who are not pursuing, or do not have the means to pursue, a formal educational with a terminal degree. We’ve found that very few people are called to go that route. Not everyone can be earn a PhD, but anyone, including the uneducated, can become a Doctor of the Church.
But, if you do feel drawn to studying to attain your degree, then please consider taking courses with Holy Apostles College and Seminary whose online programs are second to none in rigor and affordability. The Signum Dei program will never offer a degree track because, frankly, we don’t think it is necessary to achieve salvation.
Does it cost anything?
Yes. There are two pricing plans available. The first is the Silver Membership Plan which currently is set at $10/mo. The other is a the VIP membership which is set at $50/mo (and includes some excellent perks!) Head over to our plans page to sign up.
Do you offer certificates?
No, we do not. Certificates are very nice to have but since the nature of the program is not “award driven,” we do not offer certificates. Signum Dei is for people who have an intrinsic motivation to learn their faith without needing anything to show for it besides the continual growth of their intellect and spirituality. That, and you can’t take a certificate to heaven with you 🙂
Can I give a membership to someone as a gift?
Yes. What a great gift to give, too! To give a membership as a gift, the only thing you need to do is provide the email address of the person you want to give a membership to when purchasing the membership. When you sign up, you’ll enter their email address in the email field, and on the payment fields, you’ll enter your payment method.
Do you offer group rates?
While we encourage groups to join together as individual paying members, we do not offer group rates due to the constant possibility of changing numbers within each group over the course of time. That being said, joining Signum Dei with the other members of your group is a terrific idea as you can all work together on the same content.
We DO, however, offer private group forums for anyone who requests them. This is a great way to manage your discussion within your small group. This is an ideal way for your small group to communicate with one another without having to search for each others comments in our community forum. To make the request for a private forum for you and your small group members, click here to go to our Contact page and let us know.
Is it worth it?
Yes. If you want to learn about God with a like-minded community of fellow Catholics who simply won’t ever stop studying the mysteries of God and his work in the universe, then this program is for you. You’ll have access to all courses, first dibs on all new content, and a community of like-minded people who are just as motivated to learn about God as you are.
That last point is a huge one. In today’s world, people from all over the world can come together in online learning membership sites to learn just about anything. Those who are serious about their learning are willing to pay big bucks to be surrounded by people with the same zeal for the things they are learning. Writers pay to join writers groups so they can get and give feedback for their craft. Others join paid membership groups to learn how to film video, take professional-grade photographs, or even cook.
Signum Dei is the paid membership group for Catholics to be around other Catholics who are serious about their faith. Whether you are a budding apologist, a Sacred Scripture scholar, a self-taught Mariologist, etc. Signum Dei is your place to go even deeper than you currently are studying alone.
